WEEKLY STRIKE UPDATE: Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve conducted 139 strikes this week, 111 strikes in Iraq and 28 strikes in Syria from Mar. 19 - Mar. 25, 2016.

 - This week's strikes supported Iraqi Security Forces, applying pressure to ISIL by securing the western approaches toward Hit. 

 - Coalition strikes on bridges over the Tigris River have limited ISIL's ability to maneuver and sustain its fighters east of the river. 

 - In Syria, 13 Coalition strikes near Mar'a supported opposition forces continuing to engage ISIL along the Mar'a line.

Mortar training is just one of the additional skills taught at Al Asad. The training is part of the building partner capacity (BPC) mission, which increases the military capabilities of Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). By enabling ISF through advise and assist, and BPC missions, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve multinational coalition is helping the Government of Iraq to set the conditions to defeat ISIL.
