The Italian Task Force Carabinieri recently conducted bomb disposal training, as well as the first Cultural Heritage Protection course for Iraqi Federal Police. In addition, Italian Task Force Carabinieri concluded its first cycle of C.A.P.T. (Carabinieri Advanced Police Training) Course for the “Sniper Battalion” of the Iraqi Federal Police, which led to the final classification and graduation of 48 trained Iraqi police. Italy is part of a ‪#‎Coalition‬ of more than 60 international partners that has united to assist and support the Iraqi Security Forces to degrade and defeat ‪#‎Daesh‬. This unity between Coalition partners has contributed to Iraq’s significant progress in halting Daesh's momentum and in some places reversing it.

WEEKLY STRIKE UPDATE: Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve conducted 163 strikes this week, 119 strikes in Iraq and 44 strikes in Syria from Dec. 19-25. This week's strikes supported Iraqi Security Forces in multiple cities, to include: 
- 45 strikes near Mosul as ISF began isolating Daesh in the city.
- 31 strikes near Ramadi as ISF continue to clear sections of the city.
In Syria:

- This week's strikes supported Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) in Ramadi as the city continues to get cleared by Iraqi Forces, as well as 30 deliberate and dynamic strikes in Mosul. 

- In Syria, strikes in support of Operation Tidal Wave II reach as high as 107 in total, significantly impacting ISIL finances.

Opération Chammal is the name of the French military operation which is currently ongoing in Iraq and Syria in an attempt to contain the expansion of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and to support the Iraqi army.
