This week's building partner capacity graphic features photos of Portuguese coalition partners evaluating shooting accuracy during training at Besmaya Range Complex, Iraq; and Royal Danish helping to enhance Iraqi Federal Police skills during forcible-entry training at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq.

 By enabling Iraqi Security Forces through advise and assist, and building partner capacity missions, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s multinational coalition is helping the Government of Iraq to set the conditions to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Denmark has significantly strengthened its military commitment to fighting the Islamic State group, following approval by the Danish national parliament to send a combined new land and air force to Syria and Iraq in the second half of 2016.

Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve conducted 140 strikes this week, 135 strikes in Iraq and 37 strikes in Syria from Apr. 16 - Apr. 22, 2016.

- On April 16th near Mar’a, Syria, three strikes struck two separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed three ISIL fighting positions and an ISIL tactical vehicle. 

 - On April 20th near Mosul, Iraq, nine strikes struck an ISIL staging area, an ISIL-used power plant, and four separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed two ISIL assembly areas, three ISIL supply caches, an ISIL mortar system, and two ISIL vehicles and denied ISIL access to terrain. 

 - And on April 22nd, near Fallujah, Iraq, three strikes struck two separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed an ISIL-used bridge, an ISIL fighting position, two ISIL heavy machine guns, an ISIL bunker, and an ISIL tunnel system.

Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve conducted 140 strikes this week, 115 strikes in Iraq and 25 strikes in Syria from Apr. 9 - Apr. 15, 2016.

 - On April 9th near Ar Raqqah, Syria, one strike destroyed two ISIL oil pump jacks. 

 - On April 12th near near Mosul, Iraq, two strikes struck two separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed four ISIL assembly areas and an ISIL fighting position. 

- And on April 15th, near Mar’a, Syria, three strikes struck three separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed two ISIL fighting positions.
