AL ASAD AIR BASE, Iraq - An Iraqi soldier from 7th Iraqi Army Division looks through the sites of a 81mm mortar weapon system at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Feb. 20, 2016. Mortar training is just one of the additional skills taught at Al Asad. The training is part of the building partner capacity (BPC) mission, which increases the military capabilities of Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). By enabling ISF through advise and assist, and BPC missions, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s multinational coalition is helping the Government of Iraq to set the conditions to defeat ISIL.
