Lieutenant General Paul J. LaCamera

Commander, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve

Lt. Gen. Paul J. LaCamera is the Commanding General, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve; Commanding General, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Lt. Gen. LaCamera was commissioned an Infantry Officer from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1985. His education includes a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Military Academy and a Master of Arts degree from the U.S. Naval War College.

Lt. Gen. LaCamera has commanded at the company level twice, the battalion level twice, the regimental level, and the division level. His past assignments include: the 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; 4th Ranger Training Battalion and the 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; 2d Infantry Division, Eighth United States Army, Republic of Korea; 10th Mountain Division (Light), Fort Drum, New York; 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado; and the Office of Security Cooperation, Baghdad, Iraq.

Lt. Gen. LaCamera has participated in numerous contingency operations including: Operation JUST CAUSE in Panama; Task Force Ranger in Operation UPHOLD DEMOCRACY in Haiti; Operation ANACONDA in Afghanistan; and multiple rotations in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Operation NEW DAWN, and most recently Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. 

Lt. Gen. LaCamera's awards and decorations include: the Combat Infantryman Badge (with star), Master Parachutist Badge (with Bronze Star), Ranger Tab, and Pathfinder Badge.
