Feb. 21, 2020 - A graduate walks across the stage to collect his college diploma and earn his commission in the U.S. Army. Tears well in a mother’s eyes as she witnesses her child soar to new heights. This moment marked the beginning of an opportunity to serve side-by-side as mother and son.

Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve Monthly Civilian Casualty Report
Feb. 13, 2020 - Since the beginning of operations in 2014, the Coalition and partner forces have liberated nearly 110,000 square kilometers (42,471 square miles) from Daesh, eliminating their self-proclaimed territorial caliphate and freeing 7.7 million people from Daesh oppression. The Coalition will continue to work with partner forces to deny Daesh any physical space and influence in the region as well as deny Daesh the resources they need to resurge.

Feb. 9, 2020 - As 2019 began, CJTF-OIR operated in Iraq and Syria at the nexus of strategic influence in the Middle East. Throughout the year, regional state and non-state actors impacted the Coalition mission and threatened international efforts to restore peace and stability in Iraq and Syria. The Coalition faced numerous challenges to our resolve in 2019 ranging from a convergence of military force in northern Syria, to increased rocket attacks on Iraqi bases hosting Coalition troops. However, we persevered and continued the mission to defeat Daesh and improve regional stability.

SDF Capture Eight ISIS Fighters During Large-Scale Clearance
Feb. 6, 2020 - The SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) captured eight known ISIS fighters and affiliates, along with weapons and ammunition, during a large-scale clearance operation in Deir ez-Zor province, Syria, Jan. 31.

Kurdish-led Syrian commandos end 2019 with a bang, thwart New Year’s Day attack
Feb. 5, 2020 - Syrian anti-ISIS commandos demonstrated their mettle to close 2019 with two successful raids on sleeper cells. It was a history-making year where they defeated ISIS’ physical territory during the Battle of Baghouz and liberated millions of people.
