SOUTHWEST ASIA -- An explosion in al-Hayyah village, Syria injured more than two dozen people July 5.
The explosion was caused by a suspected remote-controlled explosive device during a peaceful protest of approximately 2,000 citizens in al-Hayyah, a village east of Manbij city.
U.S. and Turkish forces have been conducting independent, coordinated patrols on the northern demarcation line outside Manbij since June 18. Security within Manbij is maintained by the Manbij Military Council. Manbij remains secure and the MMC is investigating the al-Hayyah blast.
