Coalition aircraft conducted multiple strikes on various Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) targets Nov. 11, 2015, near Sinjar, Iraq, in support of a Peshmerga offensive operation to retake Sinjar. The operation aimed to degrade Da’ish’s (an Arabic acronym for ISIL) resupply efforts, disrupt funding to the terrorist group’s operations, stem the flow of Da’ish fighters into Iraq, and further isolate Mosul, Iraq from Ar Raqqah, Syria. The Nov. 11 strikes destroyed numerous targets to include: 27 ISIL fighting positions, two ISIL vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices, nine separate ISIL tactical units, nine ISIL staging areas, six ISIL assembly areas, two ISIL caches and four ISIL staging areas.
