The U.S. provides training and equipment to vetted Iraqi security forces through the National Defense Authorization Act FY 2015; Iraq Train and Equip Fund. Training and equipment is in support of the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve mission to defeat and deny ISIS safe havens by creating and enabling Iraqi forces to defend and secure their country from terrorism.
