Coalition aircraft conducts strike on one of five ISIL tactical units inside a building near Sinjar, Iraq, in support of a Peshmerga offensive operation to retake Sinjar on Nov.12, 2015. The operation aimed to degrade Da’ish’s (an Arabic acronym for ISIL) resupply efforts, disrupt funding to the terrorist group’s operations, stem the flow of Da’ish fighters into Iraq, and further isolate Mosul, Iraq from Ar Raqqah, Syria.
Near Sinjar on Nov. 12, 2015, twelve strikes struck five separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed 27 ISIL fighting positions, three ISIL heavy machine guns, five ISIL vehicles, an ISIL vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), 11 ISIL staging areas, and denied ISIL access to terrain.
