Command Sergeant Major Robert M. Preusser Jr. was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 5 September 1975. CSM Preusser graduated Belton High School, Belton, TX in 1994, joined the US Army in May 1995 as an Infantryman (11B), and attended One Station Unit Training at C Co. 1-38th IN at Fort Benning, Georgia.

CSM Preusser has been selected as the next Command Senior Enlisted Leader for the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) in Baghdad, Iraq.

He has earned a Bachelor of Science-Criminal Justice Administration as well as a Master of Science-Organizational Leadership.


CSM Preusser’s six deployments include Operation Intrinsic Action / Desert Strike-Kuwait from August 1996 to December 1996, Operation Noble Eagle/Joint Endeavor-Bosnia from September 2001 to March 2002, Operation Enduring Freedom-Kandahar, Afghanistan from July 2003 to May 2004, Operation Iraqi Freedom Baghdad, Iraq from August 2005 to July 2006 and Operation Iraqi Freedom Tikrit, Iraq from September 2007 to October 2008 and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and Resolute Support-Afghanistan (Bagram) from May 2016 – February 2017.
