Southwest Asia - Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve conducted 150 strikes this week, 117 strikes in Iraq and 33 strikes in Syria from May 21st - May 27th, 2016. - On May 21st, near Mar’a, Syria two strikes struck an ISIL command and control node and destroyed an ISIL mortar system. - On May 24th, near Mosul, Iraq three strikes struck two separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed an ISIL fighting position, an ISIL vehicle, three ISIL assembly areas, three ISIL bed down locations, and an ISIL tunnel and suppressed an ISIL mortar position. - On May 27th, near Fallujah, Iraq four strikes struck two separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed three ISIL vehicles and an ISIL tunnel entrance.
