By enabling Iraqi security forces through the building partner capacity mission, CJTF-OIR's multinational Coalition is helping the Government of Iraq set the conditions to defeat Da'esh. This week’s graphic highlights Iraqi soldiers enrolled in the Iraqi Bomb Disposal School as they low crawling during individual movement training at the Besmaya Range Complex, Iraq, April 11, 2016. Iraqi soldiers train on individual movements to build upon previous patrol-based trainingas part of the overall building partner capacity mission to increase the military capacity of Iraqi Security Forces fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

The building partner capacity mission is an integral part of the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s multinational effort to militarily defeat Da’esh in Iraq and Syria. This week’s graphic features a glimpse of night operations training as Iraqi soldiers climb onto an M1 Abrams at the Besmaya Range Complex, Iraq, April 16, 2016. The training helps further the Iraqi soldiers’ knowledge of the M1 Abrams’ systems. This training is critical to enabling Iraqi security forces to counter the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant as they work to regain territory from the terrorist group.

The building partner capacity mission aims to increase the security capacity of local forces fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant by enabling indigenous forces to take ISIL head on while leveraging U.S. and Coalition nation airpower to halt the terrorist’s momentum. This week’s graphic features the commanding officer of the 92nd Brigade Iraqi Security Force signing for Iraq Train and Equip Fund provided supplies at Camp Taji, Iraq, May 19, 2016. ITEF, facilitated by Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, provides essential weapons and equipment to Iraqi security forces as part of the building partner capacity mission. The ITEF is designed to enhance the Iraqi security forces’ lethality and readiness through standardizing and modernizing unit and individual equipment sets.
