SOUTHWEST ASIA - CJTF-OIR will not have a role in the cease-fire in effect between government and rebel forces in Syria’s civil war. Operation Inherent Resolve partners will continue to strike ISIL. OIR’s mission is to militarily defeat ISIL in Syria and Iraq, and the coalition will strike the enemy with precision and concern for mitigating civilian casualties.
