BAGHDAD - Coalition Forces conducted a raid in the morning of April 17, 2023, killing Abd-al-Hadi Mahmud al-Haji Ali, a senior ISIS leader responsible for planning attacks across the Middle East and Europe. Two additional ISIS fighters were killed in the operation, and there were no Coalition or civilian injuries or damage to infrastructure.
Maj. Gen. Matthew McFarlane, the commander of Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve, praised the operation's success in dealing another blow to ISIS.
"Our commitment to a stable and secure region remains the focus of every Coalition member," said McFarlane. "Our forces have removed another dangerous terrorist from the battlefield and further degraded ISIS's capabilities."
